The School Town of Munster Strategic Plan (STMSP) sets forth specific benchmarks related to the fiscal responsibility and transparency of the district. The School Town of Munster wishes to assemble and utilize the expertise of community members as a cost effective means to achieving specific fiscal objectives through the establishment of the Community Financial Advisory Committee (CFAC). Board Policy 9140 provides a framework for the creation of such a committee.
The CFAC will be comprised of five, Board-appointed community stakeholders. Once the CFAC is created by Board vote, the availability of non-paid CFAC vacancies will be advertised on the website for a period of 2-weeks during which time interested individuals may submit resumes. Members will be appointed based on professional qualifications provided via resume. Applicants must be Munster residents and possess a documented professional background in finance and/or accounting with preferential consideration given to individuals with a professional background in school fund accounting or municipal finance. The Superintendent, Director of Financial Operations and Board will review all resumes and credentials. Interested individuals must submit resumes to Karen Demitroulas via email, mail or in-person by Friday, May 1, 2015.
