Will MHS Prom still be held on 4/25?
As of right now, prom will not occur on 4/25. More information will be forthcoming.
Are teachers available to answer academic questions during this time off?
Yes. Teachers are available via email. Email addresses can be found on each school’s webpage. Teachers are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays of eLearning days.
IREAD and ILEARN Assessments
The Indiana Department of Education and Gov. Holcomb’s office have canceled the IREAD, ILEARN, ISTEP+ 10, and I AM assessments.
What will happen with scheduled field trips?
If your child’s field trip was scheduled during the weeks we are not in attendance, the field trip is canceled. Refunds will be addressed upon our return.
Field trips scheduled in the future or upon our return to school will be determined by the overall situation, the discretion of the venue, or by the administration. Specific information will be sent to those that are affected.
How do I talk to my child about the Coronavirus?
Will Central Office be open for regular business during this closure?
In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Central Office will not be open to the public while schools are closed. If you need to reach a staff member, email addresses can be found on our website.
What if my student doesn’t have home Wi-Fi access?

Will Munster Schools continue to host/attend events?
At this time, all scheduled events have been canceled until further notice.
Will athletics/extra-curricular practices continue while schools are closed?
All activities held at Munster school facilities are canceled until further notice.
Will we have to make up these days missed at the end of the school year?
Governor Eric J. Holcomb announced additional steps the state will take to reduce the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Indiana. School corporations will be provided with a 20-day waiver of the required 180 instructional days for use as needed for the remainder of the academic year. The waived days do not need to be used consecutively and can be leveraged as needed.
Will the Elementary School PTOs still put on the Mustang Stampede 5k run and walk?
We will not be holding the Mustang Stampede at this time. Due to our school closings and respect for our amazing sponsors, we must place all of our efforts into supporting our individual school communities during this time of uncertainty. Our PTO efforts will be focused on helping our schools, staff, community and most importantly our children through the time remaining of our school year.

Will the ACT still take place at Munster High School on April 4?
Since the building will still be closed on April 4, the ACT test is canceled for this day.
How/will AP Tests be impacted, and is it too soon to ask if MHS graduation and summer school will also be impacted?
