Community Ambassador Program

The We Are Munster Community Ambassador Program is an engaging, year-long learning experience for select Munster community leaders and school district parents to enjoy a deeper understanding of the School Town of Munster schools. Program participants are exposed to all facets of running a district, including business management, academics, student services, operations and more.

Class members have the opportunity to:
  • Gain first-hand knowledge of how Munster Schools functions
  • Experience the engaging learning style used with students
  • Participate in a dialogue with leadership on education issues
  • Develop an understanding of how Munster Schools has created a unique culture of educational excellence that is studied by other high-performing school districts

Ambassador graduates are partners in sharing the School Town of Munster's vision throughout the community and will be invited to continue to engage with the district through future project team and input gathering opportunities.

  • We ask that ambassadors commit to at least six of the seven sessions. Our staff and students help prepare these experiences, and it is important that they have the chance to share their hard work with you.
  • Sessions will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and will include breakfast.
  • Ambassadors are encouraged to become active attendees of district events in order to get to know our community of students, staff and families. They will receive passes/tickets to a variety of extracurricular events, plays or athletic games throughout the year.
  • Ambassadors are guests in our buildings and in our classrooms. They are required to follow all safety protocols. They cannot take photos of students or staff during their visit, and they must complete a limited background check.
  • Please plan to attend the May 12, 2025 board meeting to be recognized as an ambassador of the district!
Selection Process
We Are Munster Community Ambassador classes are small by design to allow for quality interaction and discussions, and candidates must apply and be selected to participate. For each class, we choose a variety of community leaders and a parent representative from each of our five schools. Strong candidates are active in the community, well respected by others, a supporter of public education, and in a position to be a positive, helpful advocate and communicator for Munster Schools.
