Grade 3 IREAD Retention Appeal Process
Indiana law requires schools to consider retention in Grade 3 for students who do not pass the IREAD assessment. However, the law also allows parents to request an appeal if their child meets specific criteria.
If your child did not pass IREAD, the School Town of Munster will work closely with families to review the next steps and determine the best path forward for each student.
Our Commitment
The School Town of Munster is committed to supporting every student’s reading success. If a student does not pass IREAD, we will work collaboratively with families to:
-
Review academic progress
-
Provide appropriate reading supports
-
Determine the best educational placement for the student
Questions
