Work-Based Learning & Internships

Munster High School’s Work-Based Learning Program gives students meaningful, real-world experience in career fields that match their interests. Working in partnership with their site mentor and the school’s internship coordinator, each student develops a personalized training plan that outlines the skills they will learn and the responsibilities they will take on at their placement.

Throughout the internship, students participate in on-site work guided by industry mentors and complete related coursework designed to support their professional growth. With opportunities across a wide range of career areas, students can explore their passions, build practical skills, and gain a strong head start on their future pathways.

As an extension of our classrooms, the internship program not only enriches student learning but also creates valuable partnerships with local businesses interested in supporting Munster High School students.

HOW DO I GET MATCHED WITH A STUDENT?

The Munster High School Internship Program is an optional opportunity for upperclassmen to gain real-world experience in their areas of interest. Participation continues to grow each year, with more than 25 students currently involved. Program staff work closely with students to identify internship placements that support their professional growth and align with their intended career pathways.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

You are welcome to contact the MHS Internship Coordinator at any time with questions or to express interest in the program. We are always looking for local business partners who are eager to support our students!  Internship placements are generally matched twice a year to align with the semester schedule.
